About Dr. Rudin

Andrew Rudin MD started on the path to his eventual medical career after graduating from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1991. Receiving a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Dr. Andrew Rudin spent an extra year studying statistics to satiate his desire to work with big data. On his path to cardiology, he found that being able to look at swaths of data and make sense of it all with meaningful analysis was of the utmost importance, particularly in the field of medicine that conducts the highest number of clinical trials. His father, Dr. Barry Rudin, a New York City based cardiologist, shared his knowledge of the profession and the ups and downs he might face early in Andrew’s life. The stories told to him by his father, beginning at a young age, stirred something within him that pushed him towards the field of medicine.

Andrew Rudin MD graduated at the top of his class at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, earning the Harold Elster Memorial Award for highest academic achievement in 1996. His love of medicine, keen eye for detail, and diligent study afforded him the opportunity to serve as Chief Resident at Yale New Haven Hospital, hand-selected by the Chairman of Medicine.

In 2004, Dr. Andrew Rudin MD completed his Cardiology Fellowship in Chicago, IL, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, moving directly on to his Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship in 2006. The skills he learned, as well as the connections he made, allowed him to carve out a niche for himself in the field of cardiology. Cardiac arrhythmias, namely Atrial fibrillation, is Dr. Andrew Rudin’s main point of focus.

Dr. Andrew Rudin and a fellow cardiovascular surgeon developed a novel procedure to deal with the condition. His “Cooperative Atrial fibrillation Ablation” is used to deal with the life-threatening condition in which there is uncoordinated beating of the heart at upwards of 400 times per minute. The Cooperative Atrial fibrillation Ablation is catheter-based and can be performed as an outpatient procedure, which Dr. Andrew Rudin has conducted with high success rates of limiting or eliminating the frequency of the abnormal rhythm.

Andrew Rudin MD, currently based out of New York, NY is a cardiologist licensed in New York, Illinois, and Tennessee. Aside from his love of medicine and dedication to helping people attain better heart health, Dr. Andrew Rudin enjoys watching Eli Manning and the New York Giants tear up defenses on their road to another Super Bowl ring. Not only is Dr. Andrew Rudin MD passionate about medicine, he is also passionate about the Giants. He’s attended many football games as it’s one of his favorite pastimes when getting out of the hospital. While on shifts he makes it a point to know the score of the Giants games and talks to his patients about how the season is going.

Dr. Andrew Rudin’s passion for both football and medicine shines through in his personality. His friends and colleagues have described him as a go getter, one to step out on an instinct and make the best decisions possible for himself and his team.

Andrew Rudin MD, has made large strides in the field of medicine and will continue to do so as he is always looking for a new way to help his patients and increase their chances of a long and healthy life.
